Despite the limitations of mainstream acceptability of Unstoppable Domains over the years, more than 500,000 sites have been hosted on the network thus far.
Unstoppable Domains, a San Francisco-based company specializing in building domains on blockchains, has announced an integration with American web infrastructure firm Cloudflare Inc (NYSE: NET).
The integration seeks to take the latter firm’s Ethereum-based .crypto domain names mainstream through the use of Cloudflare’s Distributed Web Resolver. This provision will allow decentralized blockchain domains to be accessed by anyone, from any browser, anywhere in the world.
Blockchain technology and its associated innovations were all geared towards revolutionizing how we engage with today’s digital infrastructure. With financial system overhaul being one of the primary targets of this emerging technology, Unstoppable Domains is leveling the gap in web interaction.
Established back in 2018, the company’s domain names have helped address the challenges of central control of websites. The .crypto websites have eroded the incidence of massive phishing, increased censoring, and other challenges associated with more traditional alternatives.
“In a time when data breaches have become commonplace, while privacy and ownership over an individual’s own digital assets is paramount, centralized control has been called into question by many forward-thinking people and companies,” said Matthew Gould, CEO of Unstoppable Domains. “This new system is different. It puts the control back where it should be, back in the hands of the user.”
Per the released report, the new integration, using DNS over HTTPS, will help increase the accessibility of blockchain domains. This means that any browser can now treat blockchain-based .crypto websites in the same way traditional sites are treated worldwide.
Unstoppable Domains and Its Mainstream Agenda with Cloudflare Integaration
Despite the limitations of mainstream acceptability of Unstoppable Domains over the years, more than 500,000 sites have been hosted on the network thus far. While this figure is impressive, the company has an aggressive ambition to see its infrastructure embraced by more people and businesses around the world.
As a crypto-based website service provider, cryptocurrency wallet owners can use their .crypto domains to send and receive cryptocurrency payments. This way, users no longer need to memorize long and error-prone alphanumeric addresses to send and receive payments. To receive funds, someone simply needs to know your blockchain domain.
As more publicity is being done owing to the heightened embrace of Bitcoin and altcoins by both retail and institutional investors, more crypto-inspired projects are bound to creep into the space. Unstoppable Domains is positioning its business model for this highly anticipated transition.
The acceptance of the company’s offer is backed by the incentive which lets users purchase their domain name once and never have to pay for hosting fees or management in contrary to what is currently obtainable.
The company has enough ambitions to grow and is currently being backed by Draper Associates and Boost VC and has also received grants from the Ethereum Foundation.
